For those that missed our announcement video on Monday, we are delighted to share details about our next Grand Tournament!

We had such a great time running the last one, and had such positive feedback, that we knew it would be a matter of time. A common request has been to run one in a more Southern location, and as everyone knows… when we are asked to do something, we try our best to deliver!

This event is thanks to Hemel Wargamers, who have hooked us up with a venue and terrain, so a huge shout out to them. So, enough of the chatter. What can you expect?

Date: August 23/24

Location: Astley Cooper School, Hemel Hempstead, HP2 7HL

Size: 42 players

Terrain: WTC

Prizes: Even more than last time

Vibes: Off the scale

Tickets: £65

Tickets will be going on sale on Tuesday 6th May at 7pm. You will be able to purchase via our website, https://www.6plusplusgaming.com/store/

Based on the interest we’ve received already, and the reduced event size, we genuinely believe there is every chance this event will sell out incredibly quickly… maybe even in the one evening. As such, we would highly recommend getting in early. Even members of 6++ are a bit worried about getting a ticket in time!

We will post another reminder on Tuesday, don’t worry. Overall, we can’t wait to host another great event and have a bunch of friendly faces altogether once more!

Hi everyone!

This year we are trying to open our doors to the more creative aspects of the hobby, hence why you are seeing more video series like ‘From Grey to Greatness’, and Ed has a host of painting challenge videos on the horizon too. We know though that not all time is created equal, and sometimes it can be hard to carve out a spare moment to crack on with that pile of potential. As a new parent, I know that I am having to adjust my expectations of what is achievable! As such, we are delighted to announce a new challenge that we will be taking on, and would like to invite you along for the ride!

So what is #MaykItHappen?

It’s quite simple really! The challenge is to get at least some hobbying done EVERY SINGLE DAY in the month of May. This could be a solid 1 hour session. It could also just be a spare 5 minutes in which you paint the boots on one model. Whatever it is, it will help chip away at your latest projects, and make you feel warm and fuzzy inside.

So how will this be tracked?

There is a spreadsheet! You can just write a quick sentence on each day to just say what you’ve done. Who doesn’t love accountability/ being nosey?
There will be a section on our discord to share your daily photos if you wish.
We will be using #MaykItHappen on Instagram to do a daily picture share of what we as a team have been up to! If you use Instagram, feel free to use that # too. If you don’t, your pictures can be part of our posts!

Although the goal is to hobby every single day, obviously that’s not always possible, so don’t worry if you miss a few days over the course of the month! This challenge is just to try and push the fact that even just squeezing in a quick 5/10 minutes in can have an impact if done regularly enough. Maybe you just want to use this as an opportunity to track your hobby progress and see what you actually can achieve in a month?

Whatever you manage in May, it will be great to see and share with you all. We look forward to seeing your piles of potential diminish!
